Mayor Eric Adams has called on Staten Island Attorney Mike McMahon to consider prosecuting former Mayor Rudy Giuliani for allegedly filing a fake police report, to which Giuliani responded by urging Adams to leave due to the city’s crime crisis.

Giuliani was talking to locals after returning from the men’s restroom at Staten Island ShopRite on Sunday when store employee Daniel Gill came up behind him and punched him in the back, the video of the incident shows. Gil, 39, was initially charged with second-degree assault in the incident, although charges were reduced to third-degree harassment and harassment. Giuliani said he felt like “someone shot me” when Gil punched him in the back while video surveillance showed a brief and nonviolent encounter.

During the hit “The Daily Show”, Adams said that Giuliani had other problems regarding his role in advising Trump during the uprising on January 6, 2021 in the US Capitol building.

“Interestingly, when you saw this testimony in Washington, he also has some other things to deal with,” Adams said before continuing to hit Giuliani at an event Wednesday morning.
“Because of his signal to the police station, a person went to prison for 24 hours,” the mayor said. “This man’s life changed because – as we have all seen, patting on the back – was not a punch to the head, it was not knocking someone to the ground.
“I believe that the prosecutor should consider this and determine the end result.
