Update: Hwy 17 has reopened near Sturgeon Falls

Updated June 29 at 8:50 p.m.: OPP Nipissing West announced on Twitter that it has reopened Highway 17 near Sturgeon Falls.

Officers were sent in a collision east of the landfill road early in the afternoon. The road was closed for about seven hours, from about 1:30 pm to about 8:45 pm, without a detour.

No details of the incident were announced tonight.

Highway 17 east of the Sturgeon Falls landfill is closed in both directions after a collision this afternoon.

Nipissing West OPP sent staff after receiving a service call around 1:31 p.m. on June 29.

OPP, the West Nipissing Fire Department and the Nipissing District West Paramedic Services responded to the crash.

No details were reported on the nature of the incident or the injured.

“The highway will be closed in both directions during the investigation and there is currently no detour.”
