Man stabbed, another sprayed with bear mace in The Forks

Winnipeg police have confirmed one man was stabbed and another was sprayed with bear mace during an incident in The Forks on Friday night.

Police said the incident happened around 10:30 p.m., noting that no arrests have been made.

According to a spokesperson for The Forks, the attack took place on the sidewalk outside the Canadian Museum of Human Rights while the site was being cleaned up after the New Day event.

The Major Crimes Unit has been investigating the incident since Friday. Police said they do not know the connection, if any, between the victims and the attacker.

These assaults come on the heels of two violent incidents earlier in the week in The Forks.

Winnipeg police are reporting an assault in the parking lot Monday night that left a father and daughter assaulted.

A few days later, police said two men with stab wounds were found outside The Forks Market on Wednesday. A woman was also treated for minor injuries.
