DOOMSDAY conspiracy theories abound as CERN’s new Large Hadron Collider experiment on July 5 is set to create unprecedented levels of energy.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research is celebrating its tenth anniversary by restarting its Large Hadron Collider after it was shut down three years ago.

The European organization, also known as CERN, operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world.
CERN’s primary function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics.
Many high-profile experiments have been built at the institute through international collaboration, such as the creation of the World Wide Web.
CERN is also used to refer to the laboratory, which in 2019 had 2,660 employees and hosted around 12,400 users from institutions in more than 70 countries.
CERN is gearing up for a series of events starting on July 3, 2022, with the first celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the discovery of the Higgs boson particle.
On July 5, 2022, there will be collisions at unprecedented energy levels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The LHC, which is the largest and most powerful particle accelerator in the world, is at the center of conspiracy theories surrounding CERN.
People share their superstitions regarding the “portal” that will open after two beams of high-energy particles are set to travel at near the speed of light before colliding.
“Anyway, @CERN is opening a multidimensional portal on July 5th and it’s going to use dark matter! It’s okay,” someone said on Twitter.
“What if CERN really opened a portal to hell or something,” another person tweeted.
CERN has been in the news since the hit show Stranger Things was released in 2016.
Scientists claim that we can use gravity to test the possibility of other dimensions, and the LHC has been critically scrutinized for this reason.
“One way to see evidence of other dimensions involves gravity — specifically, the theoretical particle associated with gravity called the graviton,” reports Energy.
“One theory suggests that the graviton can move in all dimensions, not just the one we live in.
“And if we can create gravitons at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, we may be able to see evidence of them leaving our dimensions for others.”
This theory and the hit TV show were the catalyst for people to feel worried about the events of July 5th.
However, this does not interfere with the celebrations at CERN.
The LHC Run 3 launch will be streamed live on CERN’s social media channels.
This will mark the start of the new physics season at the institute’s flagship accelerator.
It comes ten years after ground-breaking research on the Higgs boson was presented to a packed room at CERN.
CERN says the events will look back at where a decade of Higgs science has brought the field, while looking ahead to new perspectives.
