The opposition is calling for a fever recovery plan

Opposition fisheries critic Craig Pardee wants to see the federal government’s plan to restore cod, 30 years after the cod moratorium was first announced.

Three decades later, cod stocks have still not recovered to the point where commercial cod fishing can resume across the province.

Pardee says the province and country have yet to move forward on an action plan to increase cod stocks. He says it’s good for the federal minister to recognize that seals eat fish, but he would like to see a plan to tackle seal predation and a plan to recover and restore Atlantic cod.
