Calgary police are investigating after a body was found by someone walking their dog in Upper Mount Royal Sunday morning.
Police were called around 9:30 a.m. to reports of a body being found in an alley behind the 1100 block of Frontenac Avenue SW
Upon arrival, officers found a deceased male. The death is being treated as suspicious.
Nearby resident Peter Succi says he was at the church when police were called.
Suki says his neighborhood has seen petty thefts, but no suspicious deaths.
“In this neighborhood, it’s serious,” Suki said.
“We get the occasional fender bender, but nothing serious,” he added. “When I got home it was on lockdown and one of the officers told me they found the body under some suspicious circumstances and they were also tight-lipped as they were investigating.”
Investigators are talking to nearby residents and collecting CCTV footage. Any residents with information to share or surveillance footage are asked to contact police at 403-266-1234.
