Excavator used to remove ATM from St. John’s Bank

The RNC believes it has located the getaway vehicle used in the ATM takedown on Newfoundland Drive over the weekend. Police arrived at BMO on the Coleman lot around 5 a.m. Sunday, but the suspect jumped into a car and took off, heading north on Torbay Road.

Officers abandoned the pursuit because the individual was driving erratically, but later found the vehicle believed to have been used.

The excavator used to gain access to the bank was left running in the bank parking lot.

The RNC has not yet arrested anyone in connection with the incident. This is the second time a dredger has been used on this coast.

Another heavy machinery robbery last night, this time at the BMO on Newfoundland Drive. It appears a loader was used to break into the ATM machine. @VOCMNEWS pic.twitter.com/ADfj4dv6k8
