A trophy hunter who killed wild animals – and ran a big game hunting company so others could too – has met the same fate that befell lions, giraffes and elephants.

The Daily Mail reports that 55-year-old Rian Naude, who runs the company Pro Hunt Africa, was found dead near his vehicle in an execution-style killing in Limpopo, an area known for its wildlife reserves.
Naude is believed to have pulled over to the side of the road when his truck overheated.
According to witnesses, a white Nissan pulled up next to the truck and Naude was shot in the head at close range. Two men then got out of the Nissan, approached Naude’s truck and stole a gun.
lieutenant colonel Mamphaswa Seabi, a spokesperson for the South African Police Service, told Newsweek about how Naude was found face up with blood on his head and face.
“In the truck of the deceased, the police found two hunting rifles, ammunition, clothes, water, whiskey and pajamas. It looks like he was about to go hunting,” Siabi said.
“At this stage, the motives for the attack and subsequent killing are unknown.
Naude often uploaded photos of himself on social media with the dead bodies of lions, giraffes, elephants and species.

His company, Pro Hunt Africa, describes itself on its website as a “hunting and eco-safari outfit” in northernmost South Africa.
Animal rights activists reacted to Naude’s death without much sympathy.
In responses to a tweet from Supporting Wildlife about Naude’s death, typical comments were “The world is a better place without him” and “A little karma on Sunday.”
