Taiwanese company ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) launched its ROG Phone 6 series of gaming smartphones – ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro – at a virtual event called “For Those Who Dare”.
The most powerful and impressively specced ROG phones to date, both ROG Phone 6 series smartphones are powered by the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform (as seen in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (opens in new tab) , OnePlus 10 Pro (opens in new tab) and Xiaomi 12 Pro (opens in new tab)) and feature an upgraded GameCool 6 cooling system.

ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro are among the first smartphones to launch with Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship chip and the phone features up to 3.2GHz processor clock speed, up to 18GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB Storage. Both phones feature an improved GameCool 6 cooling system that includes 360° CPU cooling technology to give gamers the consistent performance they need. The huge 6000 mAh battery is also sure to provide enough power for even the longest gaming sessions.
Both ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro have impressive and identical screen specifications with a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED HDR10+ display that uses exclusive ROG tuning technology to achieve a 165 Hz refresh rate and 720 Hz refresh rate. touch sampling and 23ms ultra-low touch latency. The display can be set to 60 Hz, 90 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz or 165 Hz for a great gaming experience.
For ROG Series 6, AirTrigger 6 has been significantly upgraded, with ultrasonic sensors now fully supporting various gestures, including new features such as Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming.
The GameFX audio system on both phones features symmetrical dual seven-magnet speakers that fire forward for truly balanced stereo sound effects, and there’s also a handy 3.5mm headphone jack. The phones are also equipped with Snapdragon Sound technology, which promises super-low latency processing for lag-free gaming and lossless music streaming.

50MP triple camera system
Both ROG Phone 6 series smartphones are equipped with a triple-camera system, including a Sony IMX766 50 MP wide-angle primary camera, an ultra-wide 13MP secondary camera and a macro camera to complete the trio on the back. On the front, you’ll find a 12MP camera for selfies and videos. Enhanced software features for this series include HDR10+ Video Mode.
ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro: What’s the difference?

As you can see from all the identical specs above, ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro share a lot, but there are some differences. Both gaming phones have plenty of RAM, but the Pro version; it has a whopping 18GB of RAM, while the standard ROG Phone 6 has a (still whopping) 16GB.
The ROG Phone 6 is available in Phantom Black and Storm White, while the ROG Phone 6 Pro is only available in Storm White. Aside from the colors available, there’s only one minor design difference between the two models: the Pro edition has a ROG Vision color PMOLED display that can call up different graphics on the back of the phone, while the standard version has a simple ROG logo illuminated in RGB.
ROG Phone 6 Series: Price and Availability
Another major difference between the ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6 Pro is the price. The ASUS ROG Phone 6 retails for £899/€999, while the ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro retails for £1,099/€1,299. We know the phone will be available in the UK and Europe, with other markets yet to be confirmed.
