Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side begin their pre-season program this afternoon with a match against second-tier German side FC Nürnberg. The Gunners have been at a training camp in Germany with some of their new signings on show, with Gabriel Jesus expected to get his first start in Arsenal colors in just a few hours.
The club will travel to the United States for a more significant set of pre-season friendlies next week, where they will play Everton in Baltimore before meeting Orlando City and Chelsea in Floria. Yet, although perhaps understated, the game in Germany allowed Arteta to control his players for the first time since the summer break.
