Rogers customers are reporting widespread service outages

There is a problem with some aspects of Canada’s telecommunications network this morning. Many people who are with Rogers are unable to activate their devices. The outage map shows widespread outages, but especially in eastern Canada.

Not only are internet, cellular, cable, telephone and alarm monitoring services affected, but people may also be unable to access debit and credit services. Many businesses can only accept cash.

Service NL says that due to the outage Motor Registration will not be able to process Interac transactions.

Phone lines in the city of St. John’s are down, they will not be able to take debit or credit at the Access Center or Robin Hood Bay.

VOCM News is following the story and will; information as it becomes available.

NOTE!!! Due to the nationwide Rogers outage, MRD offices are unable to process Interac transactions. Cash or check only until services are refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience. @VOCMNEWS @NTVNewsNL @CBCNL @OfficialOZFM @coast1011 @StJohnsTelegram #GovNL
