Motorists are being told to avoid the A351 at Holton Heath this morning after a crane overturned.
Police said the road was closed until the vehicle was removed.
A spokesman said: “The A351 Wareham Road is closed following an RTC at Holton Heath involving a crane which has overturned.
“The road is closed at the Bakers Arms roundabout while the vehicle is removed. There were no injuries.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also posted to say they were dealing with a vehicle fire.
“We are dealing with a large vehicle on fire on the A351 near Holton Heath.
“The road will be blocked for some time while the vehicle is removed. Please avoid the area this morning.’
The road closure is likely to cause delays for motorists traveling across Dorset today.
Police and fire crews are on the scene.
Traffic information service Inrix said: “A351 Sandford Road in both directions partially blocked due to lorry fire between Blackhill Road and Organford Road.”
