Following last year’s launch of the world’s first electric bike rack (N-Power), Fovno is now launching an all-new inverted design, the ES-H1B. The rack will be on display at this year’s Eurobike on July 13 (A23, Hall 9.1). This new design will retail for $295 USD.
The inverted trunk uses three suction cups; the front two attach to each side of your bike’s handlebars, while the rear mounts to the saddle. This three-sided structure, combined with the N-Power electrical control box and alarm system, is extremely stable and secure.
Unlike traditional roof racks with suction cups that require you to remove the front wheel, the inverted design of the ES-H1B is simple and convenient. You don’t need to remove anything before mounting your bike.
The core of the ES-H1B inverted stand is the N-Power control box, which weighs 650 grams. The control box features a power button that, when pressed, instantly mounts the suction cups to your roof via electronically actuated pneumatic suction. The control box uses a 3400 mAh lithium battery and a Type-C charging port, which enables lightning fast charging. The system has an IP65 waterproof rating and will automatically re-seal the suction cups if the pressure drops.
Weighing just 3.7KG, the new inverted rack weighs just a third of last year’s N-Power model (right). It’s a small and portable machine, perfect for travel!
Before installing the upside-down rack, wipe down the roof of your car first. Then simply place the suction cups on the roof and press the power button on the control box to make sure the pneumatic system is working properly. Place the alarm in your car and connect it to the USB port in the center console. Then purposely break the seal on one of the suction cups; if the system is functioning properly and ready for use, the alarm will sound and the control box will automatically close the leak.
Once your bike is facing the roof (be sure to avoid placing the suction cups on the hatch window joints or other irregular areas), attach the hoses to the control box and press the power button. In no time, the three suction cups will be securely attached to the roof of the vehicle.
Fovno will also soon release an expansion pack for this model that can fit multiple bikes.
