Respawn is working on a single-player FPS in the Apex Legends universe

Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends doesn’t always get as much credit in certain corners of the internet, but it has actually generated more than $2 billion in revenue since its arrival in 2019.

With that in mind, Respawn appears to be developing a new solo first-person shooter adventure set in the Apex Legends universe. This is again big news considering the popularity of the Battle Royale game.

As spotted by Dexerto, a job listing on Respawn’s webpage for a senior engine/systems designer describes the new game as an “Apex Universe FPS Incubation title.” Other roles seemingly describe it as “a brand new Respawn single player adventure”. It’s worth noting that this series takes place in the same universe as Titanfall.

Respawn has previously mentioned that it’s working on a new single-player game, but hasn’t revealed what it is – so it’s unclear at this stage if it’s the same project or not. Apex Legends launched earlier this year on mobile platforms and was released on the Nintendo Switch last year in March.
