‘Jersey Shore 2.0’ Production Halts, OG Cast Was Angry

More trouble for MTV and their new ‘Jersey Shore’ project as things have already been put on hold less than a week into production … TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to “Jersey Shore 2.0” tell us the new team of housemates were ready to let loose in Atlantic City — one house was already outfitted with cameras, lights and security — when everything suddenly came to a screeching halt.

We’ve spoken to many people connected to the series who say that one of the only explanations for pulling the plug so suddenly would be a problem with the cast, or they just don’t vibe, or there’s a behavioral problem.

What’s more, we’ve received photos outside the home since Friday showing black SUVs and production equipment, but over the weekend our sources said everything was packed up and moved out. So whatever went wrong was sudden.

MTV would only confirm that production was “on hiatus.”

What’s interesting … MTV has yet to announce who will star in “Jersey Shore 2.0” — which should include a younger cast of OGs Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation, JWoww, Vinny, Deena and Angelina.

Speaking of OGs, they’re probably pretty excited that “2.0” hit the slide … they’ve made it VERY clear, they hate the concept.

‘Jersey Shore’ cast angers MTV with attack on ‘Jersey Shore 2.0’

When MTV announced the new venture, the “Jersey Shore” stars blasted the network, saying, “…we do not support a version that would use our original show, our hard work and authenticity to win viewers.”

We’re told the statement from the original stars had nothing to do with the production hiatus.
