Police in Chatham-Kent have arrested and charged a youth with manslaughter.
Police said the youth has been charged with manslaughter after the victim of an attack in Tilbury in June died from her injuries.
Police announced on Thursday afternoon that they have launched an investigation into an aggravated assault which took place on June 6, 2022 at the junction of Queen Street and Louise Street in Tilbury. In the attack, the victim suffered serious injuries and life was in danger.
On 10 June 2022, a youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. On June 27, 2022, the victim died of his injuries in the hospital, according to the police.
Police have not publicly released the victim’s identity.
Police said the suspect was arrested and charged with manslaughter on Thursday.
