A Russian missile strike hit the northeastern Ukrainian city of Chuguev in Kharkiv Oblast overnight Saturday, killing three people, including a 70-year-old woman, and injuring three others, the regional governor said.
“Four Russian rockets, possibly fired from the vicinity of (the Russian city of) Belgorod overnight, around 3:30 a.m., hit a residential building, a school and administrative buildings,” said Sergey Bolvinov, deputy chief of Kharkiv regional police.
“The bodies of three people were found under the rubble. The victims are civilians.”
Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, has seen particularly heavy bombing in recent days, with Ukrainian officials and local commanders expressing fears that a second full-scale Russian assault on the northern city could be looming.
