LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Los Angeles’ Sixth Street Bridge has only been open for a week, but police say there have already been street takeovers and stunts at the site.
Tire tracks from car stunts, like “doughnuts” and burnouts, covered the bridge road on Monday after incidents over the weekend.
One video shows two people walking along the arch of the bridge and taking pictures while sitting on top of the concrete arch.
Another video shows one driver doing a burnout while other drivers pass him.
Sixth Street Viaduct: Los Angeles’ long-awaited structure finally opens
Los Angeles police said no arrests have been made in connection with the stunts.
The LAPD and CHP street racing task force do arrest people in certain cases. Penalties include fines and imprisonment.
The Sixth Street Viaduct connects Boyle Heights and the downtown Arts District. The former Sixth Street Viaduct, which was built in 1932, is a Los Angeles landmark seen in countless movies and TV shows, most notably in “Grease” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”
