Alberta’s chief health officer said the province will make some adjustments to its COVID-19 data dashboard.
Changes include hospitalizations, outbreak follow-up, health capacity and vaccine outcomes.
For hospitalizations, Alberta Health will add a graph showing people hospitalized directly or indirectly due to COVID-19.
The province is moving away from specific locations with outbreaks by zones. Dr. Deanna Hinshaw says it’s a highly manual process and not timely because it’s only updated once a week.
Instead, the Department of Health will list the number of outbreaks in a number of categories for ongoing care.
Alberta Health will also remove information about ICU capacity and temporary bed and space reductions in each region and point to the Alberta Health Services (AHS) website for this information.
The province is also refusing to report vaccine results because the current information is “not comprehensive,” according to Hinshaw.
Alberta Health does not make changes to other metrics.
