Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that Jules Conde is heading to Chelsea.
Laporta was recorded telling a fan that Kunde should sign for their west London rivals, although it remains to be seen if he meant it.
Some Catalan media sources believe the Barca president was joking and that his comments do not mean La Blaugrana are off the hook.
Chelsea are hoping that a deal for Conde will be accelerated before the weekend and that he will be able to join them ahead of their final pre-season game with Udinese next Friday.
90min confirmed earlier this week that Chelsea had agreed terms with Sevilla for the player. But Barcelona, after signing Robert Lewandowski earlier this week, made their own move for Kunde at the behest of head coach Xavi.

Barca have not reached an agreement with Sevilla but the player is keeping his options open rather than finalizing his move to Stamford Bridge.
In fact, Kunde decided to go on Sevilla’s pre-season tour of Portugal rather than stay at home – which he was given permission to do after minor pelvic surgery last month.
