Tommy’s Adena
What were you hoping for? Someone who shares my love of Elizabethan architecture, the countryside and rhubarb crumble. It was very specific – it couldn’t live up to my expectations!
First impressions? Very tall.
What were you talking about? Politics. law. ESG. And more politics. (good thing we both like it). The latest book I read. How we’re both fans of Blind Date – he said if that didn’t work out, the next step would have to be Love Island.
Any awkward moments? We filled some awkward silences with light talk (which I hate).
Good table manners? I would say so. He put his napkin in his lap. Most people I’ve dated don’t, and it bothers me. But he didn’t wait for me to eat or drink first.
The best thing about Tommy? He said he is a careful driver and I think that is an important quality.
Would you introduce Tommy to your friends? No, they won’t get along.
Describe Tommy in three words. Thoughtful. Careful. Calm.
What do you think Tommy did for you? At the end of the date, he said, “Please be kind in the review,” so I don’t think he really liked me.
Did you go anywhere? The pipe! He doesn’t know London well and decided we were going in the same direction. Maybe I was a little harsh.
And … did you kiss? I just gave a side hug to be polite.
If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be? Maybe a different restaurant – he said he likes to cook at home and is unfamiliar with Italian food. At the very beginning, he said that he would no longer go on a first date in a restaurant.

Would you meet again? No. I’m pretty busy with work and we had nothing in common to do together.
Adeena’s Tommy
What were you hoping for? To meet a like-minded person with similar passions and have a good conversation.
First impressions? Adena was very well dressed. She was a little shy, but she seemed like a very good-natured person.
What were you talking about? I thought we shared a lot of similar interests. We talked about our respective family backgrounds, our cultures, and our shared interest in books. We have similar taste in music and also talked about our passion for politics and our work.
Any awkward moments? Just a few silent moments so not too bad. Good table manners? Very good.
The best thing about Adeena? Eye contact.
Would you introduce Adeena to your friends? Yes.
Describe Adeena in three words. Diligent, smart, dedicated.
What do you think Adeena did for you? Maybe he thought I was quite honest, calm and driven. I think we are both quite reserved, but naturally quite modest.
Did you go anywhere? No. And … did you kiss? No.
If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be? Sit away from the window. My food got cold quickly.
