There were rumors that Lionsgate might share the first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 at San Diego Comic-Con, and lucky for us…those rumors were right on the money. It seems like it’s been too long since John Wick last graced our screens, so I’m excited to get a peek at his latest action epic! John Wick’s Conclusion: Chapter 3 – Parabellum found Wick left for dead. After being delivered to the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), the two join forces to bring down the High Table. With a suitably angry John Wick, the stage is set for an action-packed fourth chapter.
In the trailer, we see John Wick on the run from assassins, getting by with a little help from his friends. Bill Skarsgård looks especially menacing as one of the film’s biggest baddies, and the High Table seems to have had enough of Mr. Wick’s shenanigans. As the boogeyman goes to town on a defenseless piece of wood, the footage jumps from one action sequence to another, each one more complex than the last. Towards the end of the trailer, we see Keanu Reeves facing off against Donnie Yen. The duo fight with swords and guns at the same time. In the final shot, Wick is seen repeatedly hitting someone in the head with nunchucks. I have to go to bed. I can’t deal with all this bullshit.
A big shout out to the Collider directors at the director’s panel for celebrating Keanu Reeves’ appearance and debuting the trailer for the big show.

Our own Chris Bumbry first caught a glimpse of John Wick 4 at CinemaCon in April, so a new trailer has been long overdue for the rest of us. Chad Stahelski is back to direct, and he teases that the new film will offer little closure for fans.
I think Chapter 4 is a good continuation of the three previous films and has a bit of a conclusion which is great. We’re introducing a lot of new characters that can tell a lot about John Wick from his past and, obviously, his present. I think it’s brotherhood, it’s hope. That’s what life would really be like as an existential crisis with John, and I think that’s the fun part of the movie.
Chad Stahelski added that “there’s a good ending to an emotional thread that we’ve already had.” The director also teased that they brought in stunt crews from all over the world for John Wick 4 and that each added “a little flavor of movement” that “helps change the sets.” Keanu Reeves reprises his role as the legendary assassin in John Wick 4 and will be joined by Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown and Rina Sawayama. The film will also see the return of several franchise veterans, including Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel, and Lance Reddick as Charon, the concierge at the Continental. John Wick: Chapter 4 will debut in theaters on March 24, 2023.
