A “TECHNICAL problem” has grounded Typhoon and Red Arrows non-essential flights.
The Royal Air Force said the move was made as a “temporary precaution”.
There is a known issue that may affect the safe operation of the ejection seats in Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.
In a tweet posted at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon, the Royal Air Force said: “We have been made aware of a technical issue which may affect the safe operation of our ejection seats on Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.

“We have paused non-essential flights as a temporary precaution until the situation is better understood.”

Both the Red Arrows and Typhoon are due to fly at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival, which returns between September 1 and 4.
