Netflix’s The Sandman trailer revealed at SDCC 2022

There’s almost no character left unrevealed in Netflix’s new trailer for The Sandman, based on the influential DC Comics cult classic. Revealed at the Sandman Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the new footage includes mortals, nightmares, Gwendoline Christie’s Lucifer and Death herself.

According to Netflix, the TV series picks up right where the original 1989 comic began. After decades of imprisonment in the waking world, the Dream King (Tom Sturridge) must reclaim his fallen kingdom and stolen power and capture his most wayward subjects—or humanity as we know it could be destroyed. Along the way, he encounters DC Comics characters like John Constantine (transformed into John’s predecessor Johanna, played by Jenna Coleman, for the TV series), historical figures like William Shakespeare, and even the Devil himself (Gwendoline Christie).

The 10-episode season of The Sandman hits Netflix on August 5.
