Cowley Road was closed this evening after police attended the scene of a suspected ‘shooting’.
The incident brought traffic to a standstill and part of the road was closed while police investigated.

What happened?
Police believe a firearm was fired on Cowley Road this evening.
After the incident, they released an appeal and said a man who was sitting in a car was approached and shot in the arm.
A member of the public who was in Cowley Road at the time also said a man was shot in the shoulder by another man.
Multiple police cars and officers, as well as an ambulance, were seen at the scene.
A police photographer also arrived and took pictures of the scene.
The Oxford Mail has approached Thames Valley Police for comment.
Was anyone injured?
A man was said to have been shot in the shoulder and an ambulance crew was seen at the incident.
The man was taken to hospital and is not believed to be in serious condition.

Is Cowley Road still closed?
Cowley Road was closed for around an hour and a half but has now reopened.
