Dozens of Hydro-Québec workers are trying to restore power this morning to customers in the Laurentians after a tornado hit the region Saturday night.
Environment Canada confirmed that a tornado uprooted trees and damaged homes in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts. No injuries were reported.
Jacques Juneau, a resident of Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, said about 30 fallen trees blocked the road in front of his home.
“It was pretty overwhelming,” he said. “There were trees all over the road.”

Hydro-Québec says the power outage in the area began shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. According to the company’s website, most customers should have power restored in two to three days.
In Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, 395 customers were without power as of 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
