The Bay D’Espoir Highway has reopened to traffic in both directions with an escort after being closed for several days due to wildfires in the area.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture says crews are continuing to work and monitor conditions while the road is open.
Officials say the road will be closed again tonight at 8:30 and is scheduled to reopen this morning around 7:30 or 8 am
Motorists are asked to drive slowly and not stop when traveling through the area during the open road.
