Subway service has been suspended on part of Line 2 due to a fire investigation at Bloor-Yonge Station.
The first report of the fire was made shortly after 7 am
It was initially thought to be relatively minor, but Toronto Fire says an electrical engineer and TTC supervisor have now been called in due to some “electrical smoldering.”
Service is currently suspended between St. George and Pape because of the problem, although the buses are running.
The TTC says there is currently no timetable for restoring subway service.
Meanwhile, police are urging drivers to use caution along Danforth Avenue due to large crowds that have formed outside the Broadview and Pape stations due to the service suspension.
“Crowds of people walking into traffic,” police said in a statement posted on Twitter.
