Tamara Leach will be released on bail

OTTAWA –

Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Leach has been released from prison again after an Ontario Superior Court judge found errors in a decision to revoke her bail two weeks ago.

Leach was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant in late June for allegedly violating bail conditions that barred her from having contact with a long list of fellow convoy organizers without lawyers present.

Leach was photographed with one of the people on that list — Tom Marrazzo — at an awards ceremony hosted by the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms in Toronto.

Justice of the Peace Paul Harris ordered she be jailed until her trial, saying there was no evidence lawyers were present and that the two had apparently not discussed her case.

Superior Court Judge Andrew Goodman says the magistrate made several legal errors, including that her bail conditions did not stipulate she had to plead her case.

Goodman warned Leach that authorities are watching her every move and she needs to follow the letter of her conditions because if her bail is in question again, he doesn’t expect her to be released a third time.
