A man has died after a car crashed into a tree in Milton

A man died after crashing his vehicle into a tree in Milton Tuesday night, Halton Regional Police said.

A 32-year-old Mississauga man was driving his BMW SUV northbound on the Fourth Lane, south of Britannia Road, just after 9 p.m.

He then “lost control” and crashed into a tree, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Members of the HRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit attended and took over the investigation. The examination of the scene was assisted by the expertise of crime scene officers and forensic scientists,” police said.

Line four, south of Britannia Road, was closed for around five hours last night for the investigation.
