President Joe Biden, who today tested positive for Covid-19 this morning, posted on Twitter: “I’m doing great guys. Thank you for your concern. I just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright, and Mayor Cognetti (and my cousins from Scranton!) to send my apologies for missing our event today.”

President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19 twice since Tuesday night and will end the strict isolation measures he followed after contracting the coronavirus last week, the White House doctor said in a new letter.
That letter, which also said Biden’s symptoms are “steadily improving and almost completely resolved,” was made public when the White House announced that Biden would make remarks in the Rose Garden at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Biden, 79, plans to discuss his negative Covid test and where the US stands in its two-year battle against the virus at the time.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician, said in his letter Wednesday that Biden “continues to be extremely conscientious about protecting every” White House staff, Secret Service agents and others whose duties require proximity next to him.
“For this reason, he will wear a well-fitting mask for 10 full days whenever he is around others,” wrote O’Connor, White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre.
On Wednesday morning, the president tweeted a photo showing his negative test with the message: “Back in the Oval. Thank you Doc for your good care and all of you for your support.”
Biden, was diagnosed with Covid on Thursday.
That day, the White House said Biden was experiencing “very mild symptoms.” Biden is fully vaccinated and has received two Pfizer-BioNTech Covid booster shots.
O’Connor wrote in his letter Wednesday that Biden completed a five-day course of the antiviral drug Paxlovid “36 hours ago” and “has completed five full days of isolation as of this morning.”
“Last night and then again this morning, he tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus by antigen testing,” O’Connor wrote. “Given these reassuring factors, the president will end his strict isolation measures.
But the doctor also wrote that given the potential for a resurgence of Covid-positive results seen “in a small percentage of patients treated with Paxlovid, the president will increase the frequency of testing, both to protect those around him and to ensure early detection of any resumption of viral replication.”
