Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid again

Joe Biden, the US president, tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time just days after coming out of isolation.

On Wednesday, Mr. Biden, 79, happily announced that he had recovered and tested negative for coronavirus after five days in quarantine.

But on Saturday, his White House doctor revealed that he had tested positive for the virus again, although he was said to be experiencing no symptoms and feeling “pretty well.”

Mr Biden has been taking the drug Paxlovid, which has reported numerous cases of effectively reducing the Covid viral load only for it to return after the drug was stopped.

Mr Biden will now resume isolation procedures once more and his positive test is believed to be a “rebound” positivity experienced by some Covid patients, according to doctor Dr Kevin O’Connor.
