FIRE crews from across Dorset have tackled a wildfire in a rural part of the county.
Firefighters from seven stations were sent to the incident near Blacknoll Hill in Winfrith Newburgh at 12.51pm on Sunday 31 July.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews tackled a blaze involving heathland and scrub.
“Firefighters from Wareham, Dorchester, Poole, Bere Regis, Weymouth, Swanage and Hamworthy attended,” the spokesman said.

“Crews used several jets with hose reels, main nozzles, a ground monitor from a Unimog and water from two water carriers. The area of the wasteland was about 60 meters by 30 meters.
The fire was brought under control by 3:30 p.m., but crews remained on scene to fully extinguish it and ensure the entire scene was extinguished.
