Actress Ann Hatch was badly burned in a fiery car crash

Ann Hatch was involved in a fiery car crash on Friday that left her “severely burned” and “intubated” in the hospital, TMZ reports.

The 53-year-old “Gone Away” actress was reportedly driving her blue Mini Cooper down a suburban street in Los Angeles around noon when she crashed into the garage of an apartment complex.

According to the publication, bystanders tried to help Heche out of the vehicle, but she allegedly pulled away and drove away before crashing into another home, where her car was “engulfed” in flames.

It appears Heche may have been under the influence of alcohol as a bottle with a red cap was seen in the car’s cup holder shortly before the accident. The Los Angeles Police Department, however, could not immediately be reached.

Aerial video footage of the incident obtained by Fox11 shows smoke billowing from the home she crashed into.

Sources told TMZ that Heche is currently intubated at the hospital but is “expected to survive.”

“Her condition prevents doctors from performing any tests to determine if she was driving under the influence of alcohol,” the publication also reported.

Hatch, known for her high-profile romance with Ellen DeGeneres in the 1990s, has been open about her past battle with substance abuse.
