Judge on Twitter, Elon Musk’s case known for fast work

The judge who will decide whether Elon Musk should buy Twitter Inc. has a track record of quickly resolving emergency cases of threatened corporate deals and has ordered buyers to close deals they wanted to abandon.

Chancellor Kathleen McCormick, a 42-year-old woman who loves Notre Dame football and co-founded a charter school her children attend, is at the center of one of the biggest cases to hit Delaware’s special business court: the Twitter lawsuit against Mr. -n Musk’s move to back out of his commitment to buy the company for $44 billion. She will decide the sentence, not a jury, and her decision could set a new standard for when buyers can or cannot walk away from deals.
