DENVER — A flash flood warning has been issued for Denver and Adams counties until 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Multiple warnings were issued Sunday evening as a flood watch remained in effect for Denver and the Front Range as the storms moved through them.
A strong rain threat could bring 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in just 45 minutes, with locally higher storm surges possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Multiple thunderstorms are expected from mid-afternoon through Sunday evening. The heavy rain is expected to stop late Sunday, with a flood watch expiring at midnight.
Recently burned areas are particularly vulnerable, leading to possible flash flooding and debris flows in areas previously devastated by flash flooding earlier this year.
Burn scar areas of Mt Cameron and Calood are under a flood watch effective Sunday afternoon.

“The focus of the storms today is expected in and near the foothills. A weak front moving south this morning is stalling as it pushes up the eastern slopes of the Foothills and Front Range Mountains,” the NWS forecast discussion said.
Next week will be drier and warmer, with highs in the mid-80s on Monday and just a slight chance of a scattered storm later in the day.
