A Calgary man and woman are facing 33 charges of alleged drug possession in addition to allegedly possessing a firearm that police say was for the purpose of drug trafficking.
Police say they discovered a Calgary man and woman were trafficking drugs while living in various residences and hotels in northeast Calgary. Search warrants were then executed, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
Police also seized a 12-gauge shotgun, an SKS rifle, a .22 rifle, crossbows, knives, ammunition, cutting tools, scales, along with various items that police said were stolen, in addition to driver’s licenses and other stolen identification .
Officers also seized 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, as well as 472 grams of fentanyl.
Darcy Garnett Zellmer, 37, is accused of:
– Five counts of possession of a firearm against a warrant;
– 14 points for interrupting a release order;
– Two counts of possession of a firearm with ammunition;
– Four counts of possession of a firearm without a permit;
– One count of dangerous possession of a firearm;
– Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking; and
– One count of possession of proceeds of crime.
Natalia Ann Niles, 22, is charged with:
– Two points for interrupting a release order;
– Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Niles appeared in court Monday while Zellmer remains in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for Friday, Aug. 12.
