Construction of a pump track at Quidi Vidi Lake is scheduled to begin this week.
The city describes the pump track as a “progressive circuit” where riders use an up-and-down pumping motion to propel themselves forward instead of pedaling, thereby developing cycling and riding skills.
It is suitable for bicycles, skateboards, scooters and wheelchairs.
The track will be located on the green area near the dog park. The construction area will be fenced off, with no public access. Some heavy machinery will require access to the boulevard during this time.
The track is expected to be completed by October.
