Investigators have appealed for witnesses to break the wall of silence after the latest teenager to lose his life in knife violence in London was named.
Deshawn James Tweet, 15, suffered devastating injuries last Thursday in Highbury Fields, north London.
Paramedics fought to save his life, but he died in hospital shortly after being attacked.
The park was full of teenagers at the time, the Met said, issuing a stark plea for witnesses to come forward and ensure justice for his family.
District Chief Constable Andy Carter called it an “incredibly tragic case” and said the victim “had his whole life ahead of him and now it has been cruelly taken away”.
In a direct plea to other teenagers who attended, he said: “We know there were a lot of people in the park on Thursday night, many of whom were young people who may find it difficult to come forward.
“I would urge you to spare a thought for DeShawn’s family who are searching for answers.
“You may possess vital information that allows us to provide these answers; please don’t keep it to yourself.

“We will support you if you come forward to speak to us in confidence.
“I’m also appealing to anyone else who was in the park that night, who may even have been a victim of another crime themselves, to come forward as it could help the investigation.”
He said there would be an increased police presence around the park and that extra efforts were being made to deal with violence in public places during the summer heat.
An autopsy determined Deshawn’s cause of death was a stab wound, shock and hemorrhage, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
Specially trained staff are supporting the teenager’s grieving family.

Detective Inspector Ben Dalloway: “The investigative team is fully focused on securing justice for Deshaun and his family.
“We are working 24 hours a day and are very keen to hear from anyone who was in the Highbury Fields area between 8pm and 9pm on Thursday 4 August.
“Did you see anyone running or acting suspiciously? Can you help us build a picture of the events leading up to Deshawn’s stabbing?
“You will continue to see police in the area for the foreseeable future, please contact them with any information you may have.”
