Peel Regional Police say they are investigating after home surveillance video shows a man being violently attacked by three men in his Brampton, Ont. driveway after getting into his white SUV.
The August 4 video shows a driveway in front of a house in a residential area. It appears to show a local man walking up to his white Jeep Rubicon, getting into it and then three men running towards the vehicle as one man armed with an ax smashes the window.
The driver gets out of the car, trying to fend off the three attackers. One man is armed with a machete and the other with an axe, the video shows.
Eventually, the victim is pulled from the vehicle by his leg and he pushes past the three men, only to be attacked by the suspects right behind the SUV at the end of his driveway, slightly out of frame.

The men are then seen continuing to swing their weapons at the victim who tries to run away and falls to the ground.
The video then shows a neighbor running from her home to the men and scaring them. He is seen throwing a shoe at them as they run. She then checks on the victim before running back inside, presumably to call for help.
Police told Global News that the incident was reported to them and happened last Thursday in the area of Hurontario Street and Mayfield Road.
“We are currently investigating it, there are three unknown suspects,” said a spokesman for Peel Regional Police.
“The victim is in a stable condition.
A spokesman for the police service also said the incident appeared to be targeted and was not an attempted carjacking. There is no threat to public safety, the police added.
