A west Toronto neighborhood is being evacuated after a five-car crash caused a gas leak in the area Sunday morning.
It happened around 9:19 a.m. near Old Weston Road and Rockwell Avenue, just north of St. Clair Avenue West, in the city’s Stockyards neighborhood.
Police said at least two vehicles crashed into a nearby house after the five-car crash and hit a gas meter.
A gas leak has been confirmed in the area and police are in the process of evacuating several nearby houses.
One driver fled the scene of the crash on foot, police said.
The area is closed while officers investigate and search for the driver.
No injuries were reported and crews were sent to the scene to fix the leak.
