Eastern Health is responding to concerns raised about an apparent delay in the implementation of the monkeypox vaccine.
Eligible patients who reached out for a vaccine appointment have yet to hear back, according to NDP MHA Jim Dinn.
Eastern Health says those who meet the eligibility criteria are asked to contact their local public health office to request an appointment.
Health officials say the first in a series of regularly scheduled weekly vaccine clinics will be held Friday, Sept. 1 in St. John’s. Clinics are held at various locations based on demand, availability of public health personnel, and availability of vaccines.
Patients can be accommodated on other days or in other public facilities on a case-by-case basis.
