A man was fatally struck by a GO train near the Unionville station in Markham, Ont., police said.
York Regional Police said they received reports that a woman was struck by a GO train shortly before 1 p.m.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Metrolinx confirmed the person was pronounced dead.
Emergency workers are on the scene and trains will be stopped for about two hours, the transit agency said.
