Calgary EMS transported the passenger to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition, but police say he died a short time later.
The 14-year-old driver was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. He was later released from the hospital, but was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant and remains in custody.

Three other teenagers were at the scene but refused treatment, according to EMS spokesman Stuart Brideau. A CPS spokesman confirmed there were a total of five teenagers at the scene, including the two taken to hospital.
Police said charges will be filed against the teenage driver in connection with the crash. Speed is believed to be a possible factor in the crash, but not drugs or alcohol.
The investigation is ongoing and police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash. They can call the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers
