Last week, we saw that Apple’s A16 Bionic SoC, which is used in the recently launched iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, did not perform so well in a synthetic test on Geekbench. This raised many questions in the minds of Apple fans and tech geeks who were considering upgrading to Apple’s new flagships.
However, a recent Antutu benchmark showed that more than the CPU, Apple has focused on the A16 Bionic SoC’s GPU. Considering the test results, things are looking good for the new iPhone 14 Pro range.
The iPhone 14 Pro received a score of 9,78,147, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max managed to score 9,72,936. This represents an improvement of about 19 percent compared to the iPhone 13 series.

An interesting thing to note is that since the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus use chipsets from the iPhone 13 Pro duo, this is a comparison within the iPhone 14 series as well. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus were also upgraded to 6 GB of RAM.
Looking at the breakdowns, CPU performance is up a respectable 17 percent, while the RAM score is up 10 percent. However, the GPU really impresses with a 28 percent jump over the previous generation.
Given that this is a huge generational improvement, perhaps the highest in recent years, it’s a little surprising that Apple didn’t use this data during its presentation.

By comparison, early AnTuTu scores for last year’s iPhone 13 Pro showed a 17% increase in the CPU score over the 12 Pro generation and 19% for the GPU. Last year, it was the memory score that wowed with a 44% jump.
Note that the pair of iPhone 14 Pros we tested had 1TB of storage, giving it a bit of an edge over models with less capacity. Still, the A16 chipset shows a solid performance improvement over last year’s chip.
Note that this year’s flagship Android devices featuring Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 are in the 1,000,000 range, with the Asus ROG Phone 6 scoring a total of 1,110,172 points, 261,708 on the CPU test and 469,592 on the GPU test .
