The city of Burlington, Ont., says it has eliminated two coyotes identified by victims in a series of recent attacks on people, and a third is still being sought.
Seven unprovoked coyote attacks on humans have been reported in the past few weeks.
The city says officials recently met with experts from the Department of Natural Resources and Forestry about the model.
It says provincial experts believe the aggressive coyotes are a family that has been trained to view humans as a food source because of the people who feed them.
The third coyote is described as small and sandy in color, the same characteristics as the coyote in the last two attacks on people on September 10th and September 17th.
City of Burlington Animal Services, Halton Regional Police and a certified wildlife control specialist are tracking the coyotes and residents are asked not to interfere with the operations.
