On Sunday, the governments of the UK, US and France issued a joint statement regarding the Russian government’s claims. They rejected what they called Russia’s “obviously false accusations” against Kyiv, adding: “The world will understand any attempt to use this allegation as a pretext for escalation. We also reject any pretext for escalation by Russia.”
