See you tomorrow at 6 pm!
So that’s it for tonight’s show! Just a reminder that tomorrow’s results show is randomly at 6pm – the BBC has generously given us a WHOLE HALF HOUR between two football rounds. Countryfile was moved to BBC 2 after Strictly, so I definitely won’t be turning up early to live-post the pre-Strictly warm-up. But I will come before 6, so don’t be late! Thanks for tuning in and enjoy the rest of your Saturday! Hx
The dances are over and the voting is open!
How fast did that go? I barely warmed up. Let’s check the leaderboard – Hamza and Jovita are at the top and Ellie and Helen are currently in the dance danger zone. Voting is open, but if you’re undecided, here’s a quick reminder of tonight’s dance.
10/10 for Gorka’s pants and velcro shirt buttons, 0/10 for scoring the crazies. Leamington Spa Favorites – Molly, Fleur, Helen.

Scores: 5, 8, 8.8 – a total of 29 for Helen and Gorka. OUCH.
Anton loved the energy and glitz, but Craig thought the hotel trolley had more body movement – it was wooden and didn’t bounce. Mozzi thought Helen’s weight was too far back, but she had the feel of Samba. Shirley loved the personality and self-belief, it was a lot of fun and Helen danced it well.
Helen looks amazing, and the thirsty Gorka sticks out his chest. Everything is fine. Gosh, I love samba and this is VERY much my cup of tea.
I don’t watch Helen to be honest, but the parts where I’m not enamored with Gorka’s ass look amazing. My dance of the night, never mind the technical details. I have a little dance on the sofa.

And finally tonight it’s Helen and Gorka!
This week they dance the samba to ‘Eso Beso’, originally by Paul Anka, but it’s Emma Bunton’s version. We’ve seen some brilliant Sambas this season – and earlier in the season I’d have been a bit concerned that Helen had let her hair down for this. She’s come a long way in terms of confidence – is she ready to give it a good go at Samba?
Scores: 7,10,10,9 – a total of 37 for Hamza and Jovita. Sorry, but scoring this week is INSTANT.
Shirley tells Jovita what a great dancer she is and it’s because Hamza is running everything. I’m not sure that’s how it works Shirley – isn’t Jovita’s decades of training what makes her such a great dancer?
Anton loved how strong and dominant the top half was, but the bottom half looked like Hamza was playing center for Bradford City. Craig totally agrees – the footwork was extremely messy. Mozzi disagrees – Hamza was punished and made Jovita look great.
I’m with Craig and Anton on this one, sorry.
They’re busy with CGI tonight, why are they all on top of tall buildings? Hamza’s feet are turned in, a problem he has had all series, and it lacks the precision and sharpness in play he needs to feel like an Argentine. Jowita did a LOT of the work there if you ask me. But what do I know?

It’s Hamza and Jovita time!
This week they are dancing an Argentinian tango to ‘Libertango’ by Bond – this song has been used many times on Strictly, most recently by Karim and Amy in 2019. I feel this dance is going to be VERY interesting – Hamza is naturally a very free and relaxed dancer and we’ve never seen him dance that kind of sharp, staccato routine. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he does with it.
Scores: 8,9,9,9 – a total of 35 for Fleur and Vito.
More heart hands, but small this time. Not yet.

Mozzi liked how technical Fleur and Vito’s relationship was as well, but Fleur needed to breathe. Shirley thought it was extremely passionate and loved the leg action, but needed more rolling and exhaling. Anton liked to be in control, but Craig thought Fleur held back – it said they liked the connection and the storytelling.
Okay, how amazing does Fleur look? So much intensity and hip movement in her rumba walks is amazing. I never imagined anyone would do a better Rumba than Molly and Carlos, but this is FILTH and I’m here for it.
“They have very good chemistry,” Newton says. AGREED.

Who is the next? This is Fleur and Vito!
This week they dance the rumba to “Too Lost In You” by the Sugababes. I always associate this song with the movie Love Actually, which officially makes it a Christmas song. It’s also kinda sexy, so I hope this rumba is FIRE.
Scores: 5,7,6,7 – a total of 35 for Eli and Johannes.
Craig thought it lacked punch and precision – it lacked luster. Mozzi wanted it to be lighter in the suspension, but it tasted like Jive. I’m not sure that’s much of a compliment, Mots. Shirley thinks the technique is completely missed and at week 10 she wants more technique. Anton thought the performance was great and featured.
I just saw some in the comment box saying that Mozzi looks like Bagpuss, which made me snort the shrimp.
