Queens Drive: Road reopens after another stabbing

Queens Drive from Magic Roundabout to Drakes Way was closed following an incident that left a teenager in hospital.

Officers were called at 4.45am on Saturday to reports of an incident on Dudmore Road.

They were also guarding a property in Seldon Close, a cul-de-sac off Lennox Drive.

The victim was taken to hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing and should be released soon.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody.

Police were seen blocking traffic at the Magic Roundabout, with drivers asking why the road was closed.

Burger King employees were allowed to pass, although they were escorted by an employee.

One person who was at the scene spoke to the Adver, saying his parents’ house had been cordoned off.

However, the road was reopened to traffic a few hours later, with Wiltshire Police confirming the news.

Fans of Swindon Town and AFC Wimbledon faced potential disruption ahead of the League Two clash at the County Ground on Saturday.

But supporters of both clubs should now be able to make it to the game for the 3pm kick-off.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting log 68 of today.
