It’s a pretty special month this time around, with PS Plus Extra bringing the goodies once again. Sony leads in WWE 2K22 as the flagship addition, and we quite liked the 2K Sports wrestling sim, describing it as a “return to form” in our 7/10 review. It’s worth noting that WWE 2K22 won’t be available until the later date of January 3, 2023.
Sony’s partnership with Ubisoft continues to bear fruit for members as well, with a trio of valuable Far Cry titles on offer. Even though we thought Far Cry 5 was a bit safe, we still gave it a 7/10 in our review, and it’s great holiday comfort food. Speaking of which, Judgment, Yakuza Like a Dragon, and Yakuza 6: Song of Life should help you get your fill of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s fix. You can check out our reviews below:
Elsewhere, the innovative puzzler The Pedestrian is well worth your time, a game we rated 8/10 in our review: “Minor disappointments aside, The Pedestrian is a fantastic puzzle-platformer that stands out from the crowd. For those looking for a unique pick-up-and-play experience, it’s well worth the investment.” Both Middle Earth titles were award winners when they were first released.
PS Plus Premium, meanwhile, enjoyed a better month – although it still doesn’t look good compared to PS Plus Extra. Ninja Theory’s legendary PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword joins the ranks of cloud streaming, flanked by several retro titles: Ridge Racer 2 for PSP and Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus for PS1.
Pinball Heroes in particular may seem like a curiosity to newer PlayStation fans. This originally started as a series of standalone PSP tables inspired by contemporary PS3 franchises such as Uncharted and MotorStorm. The layouts aren’t bad, and the game was eventually ported to the PS Vita as a complete collection a few years later. Might be worth checking out.
